Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR)
The PAFR provides a shortened and simplified review of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. This report is designed to be easy to read and understand, particularly for people who do not have a financial or accounting background.
What We Do
The Accounting and Finance Department manages the county's financial resources and processes to ensure:

GFOA Triple Crown Winner
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) recognizes governments that excel in government finance. The Triple Crown is awarded to governments have received GFOA's Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award, and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. In compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 16B.98, subdivision 5, Washington County provides the following information regarding its leadership and the management of state grant funds.
Finance and county leadership oversee grant and revenue policy compliance and the financial management of funds for the county. Division and department leaders administer and manage all grants and revenue received by the county.
