Medical Reserve Corps

The Washington County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a county-based volunteer program for both medical and non-medical volunteers. Under the coordination of the Public Health and Environment department, the MRC will help out the community in times of disasters, emergencies, and routine public health activities.

Purpose of the MRC

Provide services to protect, promote, and improve the community’s health by helping with planned events, public health crises, and emergency response activities.

Volunteer participants

  • Doctors, nurses, physician’s assistants, EMTs.
  • Other health professionals with an active license.
  • Residents with health or public health skills.
  • Multilingual volunteers.
  • Interpreters.
  • People who have experience working with special needs populations.
  • Community leaders.
  • Retirees.
  • Students.

Requirements

  • Must be a Washington County resident.
  • Must be 18 years old or older.

Steps to become a MRC volunteer

  1. Create a profile in Minnesota Responds and submit an application.
  2. Once we have received your form, we will contact you to discuss these next steps:
    1. Registration process.
    2. Background check.
    3. Online trainings.
