Information about Health Care Providers
Metro Health and Medical Preparedness Coalition (MHMPC)
The Washington County Department of Public Health and Environment (PHE) is a member of the Metro Health and Medical Preparedness Coalition (MHMPC) which includes health care organizations, emergency medical services and fire, emergency management, public health and long-term care in the metro area. Part of the coalition's work is to help health care and long-term care facilities prepare for disasters.
Hospitals, Clinics, and Long-term Care
Infection prevention, disease control, and emergency preparedness are important to us and our partners. PHE collaborates with the two major hospitals in Washington County, M Health Fairview Woodwinds and HealthPartners Lakeview, as well as dozens of primary clinics, specialty providers, long-term care and other facilities. Many of these partners are also engaged with both MHMPC and MDH through the hospital preparedness program.
Resources for Health Care Providers
Health Alert Notification (HAN) system
PHE works closely with the Minnesota Department of Health to coordinate the Health Alert Notification (HAN) system. This system enables information exchange between state and local health networks, including healthcare facilities. To learn more or request that your facility be added to the health alert network, send an email to han@washingtoncountymn.gov.
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Toolkit
In 2016, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) established requirements for Medicare and Medicaid participating providers and suppliers to help improve emergency coordination by supporting relationships across public and private agencies.
