The following actions were taken at the Oct. 21, 2025, Washington County Board of Commissioners meeting at the Government Center in Stillwater, Minnesota.

County Board sets public hearings for November 18 and 25

The Washington County Board of Commissioners set three public hearings for Nov. 18 and 25 at its Oct. 21 meeting.

The board set a public hearing for Nov. 18 to consider revisions to Washington County's 2026 Fee Schedule, which establishes the amounts of fees to be charged for fee-based county services. The fee schedule is updated annually. By law, the fee schedule can only be adopted after holding a public hearing. The public hearing notification will be made as required in the county’s official newspaper. The board will consider adopting the 2026 fee schedule at its Nov. 25 meeting.

The board set two public hearings for Nov. 25. The first hearing will be to consider the county’s 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). During the public hearing, the county board will hear public comments and consider any recommended changes to the draft CIP. The board will consider adopting the 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Plan at its Dec. 16 meeting.

The second hearing for Nov. 25 will be to consider an update to the eligibility list associated with the county’s current Transportation Sales, Use and Excise Tax, including the addition of funding for the development and construction of county road and bridge projects. The board will consider adopting the updated list at its Dec. 16 meeting.

Sheriff’s Office receives donation from Joshua’s Hope for Drug Task Force

The Sheriff's Office received a $6,374 donation from Joshua’s Hope to support the Washington County Drug Task Force.

Joshua’s Hope is an organization started by the Greene family, whose family member Joshua died of an accidental fentanyl overdose. The funds will be used to purchase law enforcement equipment for the county’s Drug Task Force.

The Washington County Board of Commissioners approved the donation Oct. 21.

County Board accepts donations for third quarter of 2025

The Washington County Board of Commissioners accepted $18,022.01 in cash and in-kind donations for the third quarter of 2025 at its Oct. 21 meeting.

  • The Library Department received $1,148.09 in cash donations.
  • The Parks Division received $440.92 in cash donations.
  • The Sheriff’s Office received $2,150.00 in cash donations for its Employee Appreciation and Shop-with-a-Cop events, and $3,935.00 in in-kind donations.
  • The Community Corrections Department received $200.00 in in-kind donations.
  • The Community Services Department received $10,148.00 in in-kind donations.
