How to receive reimbursement
At the end of each month, complete the online form Foster Care Monthly Billing, which will be processed by the Washington County's Accounting and Finance department. For questions, please send an email to foster care payments staff.
Enrolling in direct deposit
You may enroll to receive your reimbursement through direct deposit instead of a mailed check. Fill out the ACH Authorization Form (PDF) which gives you directions on how to submit the request.
Reporting a serious event
It is Washington County policy that all incidents be formally reported in written format to your foster care licensor within 7 days of the event taking place. Common incident reports include:
- Illness requiring a visit to urgent care/emergency room.
- Physical injury leaving a bruise, cut, or other mark.
- Behavior that becomes inappropriate or beyond control.
- Mental health crises requiring a response.
- Neighborhood problems with other people.
- A child runs away or is lost.
This list is not exhaustive and other events may warrant an incident report. If you are unsure of whether to report, consult your licensor. Please use the Child Foster Care Incident Report (PDF).
