Facilities

All trash collected in Washington County and Ramsey County is sent to the Ramsey/Washington Recycling & Energy Center in Newport. This is where trash is processed to recover metal for recycling and to produce a fuel used by Xcel Energy to generate electricity.

Residents can drop waste at the facility for a fee.
