Cognitive Behavioral Interventions-Substance Abuse

Cognitive Behavioral Interventions-Substance Abuse (CBI-SA) is a cognitive skills program that focuses specifically on issues related to substance abuse. The participants learn various strategies to help achieve and maintain sobriety over the course of this 42-session long program.

  • Motivational Engagement.
  • Cognitive Restructuring.
  • Emotional Engagement.
  • Social Skills.
  • Problem Solving.
  • Success Planning.

  • The class operates as a semi-open-ended program that allows participants the opportunity to start at specific parts of the program, if they have been completed certain pre-requisite lessons to enter. 
  • Classes are currently offered twice per week in Stillwater from 2 - 4 p.m.
  • This program was originally developed by the University of Cincinnati’s School of Criminal Justice.
