Suspected Fraud Involving Public Assistance Benefit Recipients
Use for suspected fraud by the recipient of Medical Assistance, SNAP/EBT, Child Care Assistance, Housing Support, or cash assistance programs like MFIP, General Assistance, or Minnesota Supplemental Aid.
In partnership with Minnesota, these referrals are sent to Washington County to be investigated by our cross-departmental team from Community Services and the Sherriff's Office.

Use for suspected fraud committed by health care providers such as facilities, hospitals, clinics, group residential housing, and long-term care providers.
These investigations are completed by state agencies.

Suspected Fraud in Grants, Contract or Other Abuse of Public Resources
Use for other fraud, theft, or the wasteful use of public resources.
These investigations are completed by state agencies including the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Office of Legislative Auditor.
